I wood carved a robot guy for this game ( artwork )

So I was having this conversation at the office space I'm renting with a colleague who's a tired programmer and is completely exhausted from dealing with computer bs. He suddenly had a revelation about how making things with your hands, you know, making something physical and seeing an actual tangible results instead of dealing with an uncooperative computer program would be so much more rewarding once in a while.

Vise words for such a young man, I though, while he continued rambling something about taking the simple pleasure of hammering a nail into a piece of wood as a child etc. etc. And I do agree completely, despite the unusual way he described it, and that's why I make little sculptures or make my own valet out of leather and so on. It's a different kind of esthetic experience, it's relaxing.

This thing is half wood carving, half 3d print. No real reason, I just thought it might look cool. It took me around three weeks to make. I made some parts like the arms posable/movable as well, like you can see in the last image. I wanted to include some things into my 2d game that look like they come from a different dimension entirely. So what could be better than using pictures or a 3d scan or a real carving for that? Well, probably many things, but I wanted to make this, ok.

This will probably be integrated much later, but I already started working on a level that uses another wood carving. I kinda tend to work on things partly out of order and because of that I have artwork already ready for a few things in advance. Each of these time consuming drawings( or in this case statues) takes a lot of motivation to finish so I kinda just work on things that seem the most interesting to me at the time. Also I do draw all day at work, so it really is nice to work on something different, especially during long winter evenings when there are fewer options for things to do outside.
