People will start exploring some questionable fashion choices if and when advanced cybernetics and gene modification come into play. And if you think that some of these options are too strange and impractical to actually wear in any conceivable situation then I implore you to take a look into current high fashion situation. It’s a complete circus already, you can literally find people wearing inflatable pools trying to look nonchalant. 

 I’m not entirely sure if I will end up using this in some manner to expand this game or if I will use it in another game idea I have, but in the meantime it’s fun to play around with some costume designs. So I made a base and drew some designs with the vague theme of futurism in mind.

Body modification via genetic tinkering, cybernetics or by some hand-wavy method is a common theme in science fiction and I for one think it’s cool as shit. I have read quite a few stories where people decide they want to look like robots or to go retro and to look like stone age people just because they can or to become a living blob of jello. I even read one fantasy book which had dragons, elfs and the like only to pull a giant plot twist at the end and to reveal that all the supernatural stuff was robots all along and people simply forgot it over the eons. I’m pretty sure some people would opt for some extreme appearance modifications today, if they had the means. Some people like to have large spikes as piercings and some decide it’s a good idea to make a fursuit after all.

In conclusion:

1. sci-fi fashion is cool.

2. You can call anything sci-fi, if you’re prepared to throw enough justification at it.
